Congratulations Sladrian and Daf

Our friendly neighborhood warden Sladrian reached level 50 today while hunting in Tur Suil! He was even nice enough to stick around for hours helping some other GoV members gain xp. Daf also had great success tonight at the alchemy table, as he reached Legendary Grandmaster status in alchemy! Only 75 more points before he can start making the highest reverse proc in the game Keep up the good work!

Members Pages updated with Herald Information!

This afternoon we rolled out an update to our members pages to include data directly from the Herald. Many of the fields are pulled directly from the Herald now and we've also included things like total realm points and character level as well. Thanks to Darcstar for the enhancements to the site!

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The XP bars were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;

Three guild members were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of level 50 danced in their heads;
And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer,

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;

"Now, DASHER! now, DANCER! now, PRANCER and VIXEN!
On, COMET! on CUPID! on, DONDER and BLITZEN!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of XP items, and St. Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my hand, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of XP items he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.

His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all their XP bars; then turned with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
"CONGRATULATIONS ON 50 TO GINZU URAGOON AND ASLAIN, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT!"

Congratulations to Nolobat, one of Hibernia's oldest characters on reaching 50 tonight. Nolobat is his third level fifty after Beltad and Nolotad. Great work Nolobat, we all can't wait to see what your fourth level 50 will be!

Woah, busy busy! Congratulations Zillikan!

Wow, we've got some pretty impressive accomplishments to announce here. You all know Zillikan has been busy in game, but you may not know all he's been doing lately. Here's a summary:

He's Guardians of Valor's second Thunderer (Realm Rank 7)
He's on Tristan's top 25 Realm Point Earners list
He's the Number one Warden on the server
He's in the top 10 for the Hibernia realm for Realm Point Earners
He's 700+ in Alchemy

Wow, very cool. One thing to point out personally is that Zillikan warned me he was going to pass me as #1 warden, heh. I've been much less active in RvR of late and I can't think of a better person than Zillikan to take over the #1 Warden torch for the server. Congratulations Zillikan, keep up the great work!

We love those support classes (and you know I like bards) so keep churning them out! We've got two new level 50s in the guild; Dryil the bard and Komar the druid! Congratulations you two!

New Officer!

I'd like to congratulate Swymyn on his recent promotion to Guild Officer! We wanted to promote him last meeting but as some of you know he was having some computer troubles. Swymyn finally got his pc working again and we were able to promote him last night! We know he will be an assset to the guild as our newest officer.

Ice Storms and 50's and Insane Crafters OH MY!

Well we're glad GoV has its power back from that nasty ice storm in North Carolina because we can now put up this very exciting news post! We want to congratulate five, thats right count them five new level 50 characters in the guild. Dathurtz, Tigerr, Anaethema, Walren and Skewba all hit level 50 this past week! Most if not all already have their epic armor and the others are close. On top of the people leveling their characters like mad we have two people who have leveled their craft to the max this week. Botulism pushed hard and managed to break 1000 in spellcrafting making him the guilds second Legendary Grandmaster! And Karnaj finally reached the end of his misery by becoming the guilds third Legendary Grandmaster Weaponcrafter! Congratulations to everyone and keep up the great work making GoV stronger. Now go level those animists and valewalkers :)

Ice Storm!

An ice storm had 1.5 million people out of power in North Carolina where the GoV and Tristan Alliance web sites and forums are hosted. Thanks to the many folks out there in the cold who got our power turned back on 18 hours later. We're glad to be back online!

Thanks to Profit for sending in this screen shot that's a year old today. Way way back in the day when there weren't many people RvRing and people with over 100 realm points total were RvR gods, some of the Mids came to Ligen and left us a little message. It stayed up for a long time. Many people heard about it and tried to find their way to a little known place called Drum Ligen to check it out. /salute to those in Midgard who had this great idea. I hope you're still out there playing today.
