In addition to the cool new TristanAlliance.com site that we put up today I've added some cool links to the right bar.

These should have been up for some time. You people are going to have to get on me more. If you go there daily, let's put the link on our site. You let me know and I'll put it up. There could be exceptions of course. I can guess at the kinds of sites some of you go to daily...

I've been wanting to put an alliance site up for some time, but I was waiting until we had enough demand for a site dedicated to the alliance. It looks like we've got a lot of current information and we'll be growing in guilds as well as potentially across alliances.

Alliance information and news will be housed there. The forums for communication will remain here. (I would lose my mind if I had to maintain two forum membership lists including access levels)

We want your comments and input. I really wrote nothing new for this site, just the same information we've had for a while. It's just organized in one place and now it has much more room to grow.

Exciting news for GoV Realm vs Realm standings!

Guardians of Valor is currently in FOURTH place in Hiberian with 356,528 realm points. We are in TENTH place overall on the Tristan server.

Special thanks go out to all members that have been RvR-ing and taking down the Mids and Albs.

Shadowlight and Creeping promoted to Officer!!

Please join me in congratulating Shadowlight and Creeping/Freakboy on their promotion to Council Officer.

Shadowlight has been an intregral part of the guild for many months. He's always willing to give a rez or make you some armor. He has been quick to group with recruits and power-level alts. Outside of the game he has offered suggestions for the website and been active in the forums. He has past experience leading guilds and monarchies in other online games, so I'm sure he'll have be a great resource as GoV continues to grow stronger and larger.

Creeping, as Freakboy, has been one of our most active members in grouping with new recruits and members. He is dedicated to helping make GoV a great place for everyone. Creeping as been an active contributor to the forums with an open mind and caring heart. We are happy to promote him to officer so that he can continue helping grow the GoV community.

Please give both these guys a big pat on the back the next time you see them!

Calendar Up!

The top menu bar has a new item, Calendar. Skill Trades has been moved under the Members section to unclutter our main menu.

We have searched for a calendar that meets our needs and have evaluated multiple products. This calendar, by Brown Bear Software, is not freeware unfortunately. We are currently using it on a 30 day trial basis. If the GoV membership determines it useful we will pay the $95 to register the copy and continue to use it. Donations are always welcome.

When looking for a calendar tool we wanted a collection of functionality as well as significant customization capabilities. Many of the calendars out there did not support the kinds of detail we needed or did so with an awkward interface. Calcium, the calendar we chose, has a feature set that will enable us as a guild to easily enter calendar events and manage guild activities.

At this time anyone can come to our site and add events to our calendar. The calendar is unrestricted in access so consider this when entering RvR specific activities. If the calendar proves to be useful in these areas we can look into restricting access. At this point, it mirrors very closely the Camelot Herald's calendar interface.

Thank you to Valary for making the calendar suggestion. If anyone tries to take the credit away from her they will have Cynder to answer to. Yay Valary!

Before purchasing this product we will need feedback from you. Please take advantage of our 30 days to help us evaluate Calcium. All comments are always welcome.

Congratulations to Pharaoh on Her Promotion to Guild Commander

Please join me in congratulating Pharaoh who has been promoted to the rank of Guild Commander. Pharaoh is taking the position Nolobat previously held. This change in leadership is a happy occasion all around. Many of you know Nolobat as GoV's fastest leveler. Nolobat has decided he wants to dedicate more time to building his characters into powerful Midgard/Albion crushing machines. As such, he decided to step down from the administrative duties of leadership so that he could lead us in the real battle (domination of the realms, of course!)

Pharaoh has been dedicated in leading us in our web presence and is now stepping up to help lead us as a guild as well. She will work closely with Rheanae and Xlarthen to help us all be the best guild we can be.
