Well Done GoV!
Posted by Profit@ 8:40 PM EDT

After almost two years Guardians of Valor is still gaining momentum as a guild. Just yesterday GoV moved up to the #3 guild on Tristan for realm point totals at just over 84 million! There are many great guilds on this server that we fight both with and against and we're glad they are pushing just as hard as GoV to make Tristan the very best DAoC server to play on. /Salute to those who make our home server such a great place and /cheer to the members of GoV who make us proud!

A GoV raid to remember...
Posted by Anaethema@ 1:52 AM EDT

Tonight we made guild history:

After deciding to take an Alb keep to regain DF, we were going to do a High Lord raid for our monday night event.. so we loaded up with rams and donned our Alb portal necklaces with great anticipation. Hopes were high, plans were set, and so began our weekly journey.

We organised groups in HW after waiting for a few ports, then set out for the first of our nightly objectives: Cear Benowyc! The keep was highly upgraded with red/purple guards and high level doors, so we put up 3 rams on the outer and had a PB party with all our chanters. Some Albs were inside defending and giving our NS fits, so once the outer door dropped we made sure to regroup and rebuff before beginning the inner assault. It took awhile, but we finally managed to dislodge Spell and Co. from the Lord room so we could do what we originally set out to do.. and that is a HL raid.

The Hibzerg ran back to HPK only to miss the port by mere seconds! Tensions were high as we watched Eras fall and /as reports of 42 in Emain filtered in. Crim fell right before we ported, but we still had DF so we all made tracks to the portal to reorganize groups for our HL raid. It took some time to get everything just right, but everyone was patient as we made balanced groups. Now our nightly plans had come to fruition!!

We had 4 full groups, so took out all the High Lords and Dukes fairly quickly, so decided to see just how far we could take it. We had little problem with the High Chancellor, so it was decided at that time for us all to try for Legion!! We cleared all the agro, then the Chamberlain.. and it took awhile but for the first time as a guild we took down Legion!! While we were sorting everything out for the lotto, the Chamberlain popped 3-4 more times and then Legion himself made another appearance!! This time he got the best of us, but we still had a great time exploring the lower parts of DF and got some nice drops as well. It was agreed upon by many there tonight that this was the one of our best guild outings yet!!

Congratulations Daphyd!
Posted by Profit@ 10:56 PM EDT

Daphyd set out on an expedition when he reached level 49... an expedition to discover if it was possible to get all 10 bubbles of xp in 49 from questing alone. Well he announced to the guild after a lot of horse tickets that it is indeed possible as he dinged 50 from only quest xp! Wow, congratulations Daphyd!

Congratulations Akopian!
Posted by Pharaoh@ 10:10 AM EDT

It's not easy to get to 1000 or 1100 in a trade skill. It's even harder to get to true cap where every item is grey to you. Yesterday Akopian did just that and capped Armorcrafting. Akopian was one of the first crafting pioneers in Hibernia. When DAoC was young he was always in TNN answering crafter questions and helping out people with orders. I'm guessing of the 1165 skill points he has in armorcrafting more of those skill points were earned filling orders than anyone else on this server. Congratulations Akopian on this great acomplishment!

Congratulations Bizot on reaching 50!
Posted by Pharaoh@ 10:20 AM EDT

Congratulations to Zepherz's fifth, yes fifth level fifty. Early this morning his bard Bizot got his final ding. Bizot is a farming bard helping many in Hibernia become more wealthy through killing those mean nasty mobs that just won't seem to go away. Congratulations Bizot!

Also congratulations to Aetius who is our newest Silver Hand (realm rank 6) at over a million realm points! He is one of GoVs very best scouts and combat nightshades!

- We also have two new LGM crafters this week taking GoV's total number of crazy crafters to 42! Well done Ssstomp for Weaponcrafting and Rayado for finishing Spellcrafting!

- Bonsaii has been out rvring a lot recently making any keep defense about five times easier with all those shrooms. He's managed to pass every animist on Tristan to now be the #1 shroom machine, congratulations! Watching him play makes me want to start an animist next!

Mega Ding - Congratulations Ohbejuan, Riznil, Sile, Avenge and Proven
Posted by Pharaoh@ 9:16 AM EDT

Well, I was out of town for the weekend and when I returned apparently there had been a ding fest in the guild. I'm happy to report the following accomplishments:

- Ohbejuan, Ssstomp's enchanter, hit 50. This is Ssstomp's second 50. Of special note here's a pronunciation key for his name: Oh-Bee-wan. He says its a phonetic spelling of something called a "Jedi Master" whatever that is.

- Riznil hit 50 on his nightshade last night after several near ding attempts in DF followed by naughty evil Alb wipeouts. This is Riznil's first 50 so an extra hearty congratulations to him!

- Sile, Smage's nightshade, also hit 50 this weekend helping to complete the GoV Stealth Squad. Sile is Smage's third 50 and his second 50 in just over a week as Marius, his druid, also just hit 50.

- Avenge, Darcstar's er... second druid, hit 50 this weekend as well. Darcstar has never been one to have just one of a character so he went for a second druid to be as he said "Just like that cool Restynn guy" (who also has two 50 druids.) Avenge is an RvR Nature/Regrowth specced druid and is Darcstar's seventh 50.

- Lastly congratulations to Profit on his first and the guild's third level 51 character, Proven. Proven "the heavily XPed" dinged 51 last night and now has ten full bubbles of XP into level 50. Proven joins the guild 51 club with our other two XP nuts, Daysie and Darcstar.

Congratulations to everyone!

Wow!! Lots of news to report!!
Posted by Anaethema@ 10:55 PM EDT

I am very happy to report that we have several exciting events that occurred tonight. I would like to extend a hearty congratulations to Poxx (Sagewood's Mentalist) and Patchonesixtwo for both making 50 tonight. What is even better is they made it in the same group within 30 minutes of one another!! This is Sagewood's 7th level 50 to go along with his 3 LGM's.. and Patch is our newest twisting bard of speed.. 6 that is!! This makes Patch's 3rd level 50! Way to go you guys!!

As if that weren't enough.. I couldn't be happier to report another crafting milestone for one of our guild members. Rubidium just made 1100 Armorcrafting, which means that GoV is now officially the craft-craziest guild on Tristan!! Way to go Rubidium!!!

Congratulations Blasz, Daysie, Dedama and Ieritl!
Posted by Darcstar@ 5:32 PM EDT

Congratulations go out to Dedama and to Blasz for reaching level 50! Also Ieritl made the RVR title Silver Hand with achieving realm rank 6 and Daysie made the impressive RVR title Gilded Spear with achieving realm rank 8! Congratulations to everyone in putting in the long and hard work needed to accomplish these significant game milestones.
